I saw that both these books were from the 1990s and wasn't sure if I had read them or not. I decided to take a chance on them anyway.1) Father's Day (1991) An excellent, heart-warming story of two people who have each lost a loved one. Robin Masterson is the mother of a 10 year old son. Her husband had died in a car accident when their son was only 6 months old. With the help of her family, she had gone back to school and become a CPA. Now, at age 30, she and Jeff had moved from an apartment into the home she had just purchased. Jeff was thrilled but wanted a dog now that they had a yard. When told he had to wait, he immediately fixated on the black Lab next door. The only problem is that the Lab's owner, Cole Camden, wants nothing to do with his new neighbors! This is an excellent story with great characters. The dialogue is believable and the pace of the story moves nicely. Although there is no sex in the story, the sexual chemistry is strong between the main characters and I absolutely loved 10 year old Jeff. I give this one 5 Stars2) Lone Star Baby (1998) This one is apparently the last story in a series and I have no desire to find the rest of them. Amy Thornton has packed her suitcase and left Dallas on a bus enroute to a relative's house. She sees the town of Promise, Texas and impulsively decides that she wants to stay there. Walking into a church, she meets the pastor and asks for help. With just a few phone calls, she has a place to stay and a job...even though she is 6 months pregnant. The whole story is too good to be true and just highly unbelievable for me. There are a LOT of characters in this story who apparently have previous books of their own. Combine that with a paranormal aspect that i find a little silly and you have a book that I find less than intriguing.
